Extended Services - Analysis & Validation

System Surveys & Air Quality Testing

Most applications require specific levels of compressed air quality from general shop air quality to ultra-high levels of purity. Utilising the ISO8573 air quality standards as our benchmark, we will test your compressed air quality at various points and determine the correct level of air treatment equipment required to comply with the relevant standard at point of application.

This ensures that each specific application is supplied with the correct air quality to ensure minimum disruption due to poor quality whilst avoiding providing costly ultra-high purity where it is not required.

Utilising our unique test instrument, the VALAIRDATA II, we can carry out on-site testing of hydrophobic sterile air and gas filters for both membrane and depth construction varieties. This test, will ensure maximum efficiency on your sterile filtration application by validating the product performance at periodic intervals. As part of our service to the process industry, we are also able to provide this service for a variety of liquid filters using our PORECHECK IV instrument.

Breathing Air Quality Testing

Compressed air for respiratory applications is one of the most critical and is usually controlled by stringent health and safety legislation. Equipment and air quality must be tested at regular intervals to validate that the compressed air supply is safe for respiratory purposes and compliant with the legislation.

Our technicians will provide a testing regime to ensure that your breathing air system is operational in accordance with local, national and international standards. This includes measurement and/or detection of general contamination, oil, water, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide and oxygen.

Whilst the testing regime is designed to detect contaminants at predetermined intervals, our technicians will also provide innovative solutions to remove them where present.

Moisture Content Measurement

The removal of moisture and water vapour from compressed air is vital for many applications. Once again, we utilise ISO8573.1 to determine specific levels of allowable moisture content for specific applications. A dryer located in the compressor house may be some distance from the point of use and, although the pressure dew point at the dryer may provide acceptable air quality at the discharge point, in practice moisture may be reentrained into the compressed air system through leaks or faulty valves etc. thereby causing a degradation of the air quality throughout the distribution network. This can be catastrophic at certain points of application. To ensure long-term compliance with ISO8573, a moisture content testing regime will identify specific areas of concern and allow corrective actions to be undertaken before any potential damage to product quality or processes.

Particle Content Measurement

In ultra-clean and critical compressed air applications, such as those required in the electronics, food and beverage or pharmaceutical industries, unwanted contamination could have severe consequences on the process. Even with high efficiency filtration at the point of generation (compressor house), contamination can re-entrain into the compressed air distribution network through pipe or weld scaling, valve material shedding and numerous other sources. Quite often, the presence of this contamination is discovered only when there is expensive product spoilage or equipment failure.

Regular testing by our technicians utilising widely accepted high quality instruments will identify contamination and allow corrective action to be taken prior to product spoilage. This is offered either as a specific service or to run concurrently with any individual specific testing requirements such as those in the pharmaceutical industry. In all cases, our technicians can provide innovative solutions to specific problem areas.

"Our instrument is also approved for ambient air quality testing in clean room environment."

Sensor Calibration Services

To further support our analytical & validation capabilities, we are also able to provide a complete calibration service for all sensors utilised on our equipment including hygrometer, carbon monoxide detection and oxygen content etc.
