There are area approval regulations in force such as CE which cover EU countries; and ASME/CRN/CSA/UL which are applicable to specific North American requirements, however these approvals may not be recognised at all by countries outside those areas.
It is therefore the responsibility of the supplier/distributor to clearly establish where their products will be used, and to ensure that they are approved for that destination.
