Chemical adsorption (chemisorption) analysis techniques are used to evaluate
catalyst activity for catalysts used in the design and production of many household
items. Catalytic activity is usually quantified by measuring the amounts and
types of different reactive gases adsorbed on the surface of the catalyst material
and gives rise to such parameters as percent dispersion, active metal area,
crystallite size, and surface acidity. Physisorption studies are used to characterize
similar catalysts according to total surface area and total pore volume.
Parker domnick hunter's range of high purity nitrogen and hydrogen generators
are ideally suited to the supply of carrier gas to typical Chemisorption analyzers
manufactured by companies such as Micromeritics and Quantachrome.
